Liftspoon terms of service

Last updated: 2026-10-22

Welcome to Liftspoon (https://liftspoon.com), a calm workout and meal log. Carlos Valdez runs it as an individual ("I", "me"). These terms are the agreement between you and me when you use Liftspoon. You accept them when you sign up. They're meant to be short and readable. If something is unclear, email support@liftspoon.com.

The alpha

Liftspoon is in alpha. That means:

Who can use it

Texts

Liftspoon is a log you text. When you sign up, you agree that Liftspoon may text your number: sign-in codes, a welcome when you're let in, replies to what you text, and messages about your log. Reply STOP to stop them, START to start again, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Your log is yours

You own what you write. You give me permission to store, process and display it only so that Liftspoon can work for you: saving it, labelling it, showing it to you, backing it up, and passing it to the services named in the privacy policy. I don't claim ownership, and I don't use your log for ads.

You can export your log (JSON or Markdown) and delete your account at any time.

AI in Liftspoon

Some of what Liftspoon writes for you, such as comments, labels, calorie and protein estimates, and its replies to your texts, is written by an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic). It can be wrong. Check anything that matters to you.

Liftspoon isn't made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Anthropic.

Not medical advice

Liftspoon is a log, not a doctor, dietitian or coach.

If you're in a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.

Please don't

I may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules or puts the service or other people at risk. Where it's reasonable, I'll tell you first and let you export your log.

Ending your account

You can stop using Liftspoon and delete your account at any time: choose "Delete account" at the top of your log page, or email support@liftspoon.com. The privacy policy explains what's deleted and when backups expire.

No warranty

Liftspoon is provided "as is" and "as available". I work to keep it running and your data safe, but I can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Please export your log from time to time if it matters to you.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Liftspoon. My total liability for any claim about Liftspoon is limited to the greater of what you paid me in the 12 months before the claim or US $10.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

If you have a problem, please email me first. Most things can be fixed with a conversation.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms as Liftspoon grows. I'll change the date above, and for a meaningful change I'll text you before it takes effect. If you keep using Liftspoon after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can export your log and delete your account.
